Buy early avoid disappointment

Aren't most advent calendars deliberately disappointing by their very nature? 24 tiny non-descript "chocolate flavoured" sweets that totals up to less than a large chocolate bar, but at 10 times the cost of one?

I had a friend who once bought an advent calendar for his dog and he said he couldn't tell the difference between the dog-friendly "chocolate" and the stuff that came in his calendar.

My local Tesco has a fair amount of Xmas Chocolate on the shelves. Which i kinda understand as its a busy / commerocal / profit orientated period for them.

What i fail to grasp is why a local Minibus company has one of those front mounted message boards - emblazoned with "Merry Christmas 2025" ?

Like - Oh damn, i normally take a random ride at Xmas....i'd better not forget again this year; so thanks for reminding me......or ?

Two weeks ago Barton Grange Garden Centre areas segregated off trees up and decorating going on cards already out.

Most, maybe. But not all. I had a pork scratchings advent calendar a couple of years ago. 24 little bags of pork scratchings. Festive, yummy and extremely healthy. Lots of vitamin P.

Been to a garden centre today Xmas stuff out just behind the Halloween stuff . So you can buy a green Xmas elf and an orange Halloween elf 🤣

I went into local B&M 3 weeks back or so to get some plant fertiliser from their gardening section. Where's the gardening stuff moved to? Oh that's seasonal, we're stocking up for Halloween and Christmas,
