Christmas Watch 2025

Two more arrived last night, three to come, plus bags of holly ivy, and so on.
True fact: @Moon bunny actually asked at her job interview if there were any perks regarding Yule decs.

I ask a light-hearted question at every interview, it hasn’t failed me yet.

A nice chunk of my Christmas shopping done this evening - which involved a trip to Lidl. And no, I did not succumb to buying anything from the middle aisles!

I'm now well stocked for Sinterklaas next week, and I've got bits for assorted Christmas boxes for postie, bin men etc.

Plenty of Christmas lights up in Littleport. The "official" lights have been switched on, and a fair few domestic displays.

Received the first card of the season in the post today.

Plenty of Christmas lights to be seen in the village and in Ely. The village green is nicely illuminated - not just the Christmas tree I saw being put up the other day, but also the actual painted village sign and the conker tree that's also on the green.

Santa (with assistance from the Lowland Rescue folks) was doing the rounds in the village this evening.

Picked up a festive "Finest" continental cheese assortment half price on YS in Tesco this evening. That'll do very nicely for the Casa Reynard cheeseboard.

It's the feast of St Nicholas, so one of my shoes is waiting by the front door with an apple and carrot for St Nicholas' horse. I just hope that Zwaarte Piet doesn't leave a lump of coal in my size 4...

Town lights went up a week ago - quite nice IMO!
Followed on Friday by a visit from some (non-local) club for Tying St George Flags to lampposts. Very festive!!!

Just finishing a latte and next task is the tree.I - we could not be arsed last week,i even tried to play my Spotify Xmas song list,i turned it off after two carols.I am not feeling festive at all.
