I used to work in a shop. The Christmas display would be up in September, along with firework, Halloween stuff and sometimes even Valentine’s Day stuff.
There was a horrible Chinese made model Christmas village. Each building had a set of naff figures and its own horrible Christmas music.
The music wasn’t the same for each building, so imagine ten different tunes all going off at once. I hated it.

I now work somewhere where I can get a long Christmas break.
I feel sorry for shop staff with all the Christmas tat on display.
I shop early for a selection of stuff, as prices rise the nearer you get to Christmas.
Its all about making lots of money for the shops.
I have now reclaimed Christmas and made it special again.

I don't know if this is allowed but, as there is no Halloween watch, I'd like to point out that both the adjoined neighbours and the opposite neighbours have had pumpkins and signs outside the house for over 2 weeks. That's nearly a month before Halloween! Firstly, their pumpkins will have gone off by the time it comes around. And secondly it's just silly

An old work acquaintance informed me today he is busy putting up the first of the five, yes five, trees around the flat! Crazy!

We're up in Cumbria, "babysitting" my 84 year old Mum for a week. Down nearer the town centre, is a house that has the Christmas lights plastered all over the front of the pebble-dashed frontage all year round!

They have not yet, as far as I can ascertain, had the formal 2025 "switching on" yet 😉

Don't worry, a local dignitary will be round shortly for the grand switch-on.
