Seasonal chutneys on the shelves in Aldi.

My "seasonal chutney" this year will be beetroot. On account of this afternoon's bicycular bimble resulting in seven kilos of beetroot picked up from the verge. (To add to the three and a half kilos that were just outside my gate yesterday!)

I also picked up the first of the new season walnuts while out, as the trail of beetroot led past a favourite foraging spot, and I'm also a Le Creuset casserole pot to the good after finding one dangling in a nearby hedge.

If he doesn’t make it through the Watford Gap by late October it will become too treacherous to pass and he will have to over-winter somewhere around Coventry.

See, what always puzzled me is that Quaid was supposed to be this top drawer climatologist who spent his time exploring ice sheets, yet he drove a Honda Insight which has the poor weather ability of Accy's new brogues. He knew it was coming but remain unprepared.

Possibly they have left it set on either once or twice a day and it hasn't switched on until today as the controlling thermostat has not previously triggered it. Or at least thats whats happened with mine today. Was convinced I had set it to off for the CH.

I treated myself to some Christmas-themed jim jams in B&M yesterday. In my defence, the small size always runs out the quickest, so I thought I'd snag a pair in the design I wanted while I had the chance.
