Picked some early cooking apples (Huntingdon Codlin) in the village community orchard in order to make some Christmas presents. In this case, a batch of cherry & apple jam, having bought a kilo of very reasonably-priced cherries in Tesco. I'll probably also make some damson jam too as I've a decent enough crop this year.
An attractively beribboned jar of home made preserves always makes for a lovely present. Saves me having to run out to buy stuff, and of course, it's made with love. You can't beat that.
