thank you very much. If I get another flat, I'll change the rim tape and tyre. I'm thinking about getting these tyres (continental ultra gatorskin). Are they really better than michelin lithion ( i mean more durable, less prone to flats ) ? My current tyres are 700x25... Will 700x28 tyres fit my wheel ?

Funnily enough - a gatorskin was the tyre I kept getting repeat punctures - then spotted the internal canvass damage - my front gatorskin's still good after at least 10,000 miles without a single puncture - so, pretty good, but nothing's infallible

no problem with multiple patches - especially until any root cause fixed. Probably worth new tube if you are patching patches
yes I'll reinstall the double patched tube. It's more ecological and economical... Maybe if I do a long ride like Montreal-Quebec (250km) I'll get a new tube

28mm will almost certainly fit the wheel - but mudguard or even frame clearance might be an issue - is there an extra 3mm spare each side.(plus.normal margin obviously

Thank you. I'm a neophyte cyclist. Too bad that I bought this bike with flat handlebars, I wanted to use it to commute in the first place and chose it because I was thinking it might be easier to ride in the city traffic. Not really aerodynamic after 25km/h (15.5 mph) and unpleasant after a few hours.

Before every ride I put the bike on a bike stand , get a bright torch (stick my specs on) and examine the tyres for debris that might have impregnated the tyre wall.

Im not commuting any more so its a viable option, however the stuff you pull out is quite remarkable and has certainly reduced my flats.
