Hi Everyone

Well, I'm a member of a couple of motoring forums and it occurred to me that hey, I could join a cycling forum too !!

In part coz there's something I need that I know I'm gonna struggle to find, but suspect lots of people have gathering dust in their shed / garage.....

....a 24mm diameter seat post, long type. Anyone got one??
(cash of course) My existing one, with 6.5" from shoulder to very bottom isn't quite long enough. I've just purchased a beautiful Peugeot "HLE Premiere" 25" in pretty much unused original condition. My 25.4"'s won't fit (obviously) and I could do with an extra inch or two.

I've been cycling over 30 years now and covered at least 10,000miles on a bike over the years, part commuting, part leisure; mostly solo all of it on bikes costing just a few quid or acquired from tips, skips and the likes; doing all of my own maintenance which encompasses just about everything including wheel building and BB rebuilds, so if anyone in the Cirencester or Swindon areas (or beyond) needs assistance feel free to ask, I've acquired lots of spares over the years

Current Stable
Raleigh Stratos 25", frame snapped (Drop-Out / Chainstay weld). Possibly destined to be Baked Bean tins soon.

Raleigh Routier 25", tatty and incredibly rusty, currently wearing Record Sprint black alloy Concaves & 20C's which don't quite work (shame as I've just completely rebuilt the back one with a screw-on hub); soon to receive 27 x 1" (they're rare now!) alloys Mudguards & Rack from the Stratos

Peugeot 25" HLE; in original unmolested condition, so much so I'm even leaving the 25C steelies in; only changing the front chain-rings for a Shimano Biopace (another blast from the past) set

'Past' Stable includes 2x Saxon Sprint, 2 x Raleigh Record Sprint, a couple of Dawes 25"'s, various other Raleigh 25" - those that I can remember are Milk Race and Equipe .....and lots of ATB's none of which I enjoyed riding.

Hi Jules and :welcome:.

Sorry, I can't help with the seat post - You've got a good chance of finding someone on here who will know though. The classic & vintage section would be a good place to ask.
