Clarkson is a twat on Top Gear, but he has made some other documentaries which have been very good.

I really liked his Brunel one, and the one where he traced his family (only saw a bit of that, hence my slightly vague description).

He seems like an intelligent sort of chap, who makes his money by appearing to be an oaf on a programme about cars - which is probably a commentary on society or something.

It's interesting to see the Top Gear clips above, which date from a time where the "Clarkson bit" of the programme was precisely that - a short "humourous" interlude between serious things about "motoring".

Struck me as a rather drab and feeble performance - especially given the easiness of the target. The maker clearly hasn't an iota of Clarkson's intelligence and humour.

I'm just reading the book of his that I've bought called "Driven to Distraction" and I think it is very amusing. He most definitely has a talent to be able to do that each and every week in the Sunday Times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
