The lottery's on a tuesday now as well? I must have been cryogenically frozen...still the same faces on CC though....hmmmmm....and still Clarkson has not been dealt with...hmmmm...stranger things have happened...and now he's a paedophile as well?!?! Dear lord. When will it end?!?!

*For clarity, this is a sarcastic response to the headline discussed in the previous few pages. It has been made to illustrate the point that the headline could be taken in that way, were the article not actually read properly. It is by no means an accusation or statement of belief.

Well either Clarkson just pretended to be an obnoxious racist sexist bully for money, or he really is an obnoxious racist sexist bully.
Neither option paints him in a very good light.

Or is it ye who accuse me of this accusation? Quite a quandry, yes. Wonder if he'll want to fund me to sue you for making that accusation, so he can get the money he needs? Wonder who you'll sue in turn? We could bankrupt the world if we carry on like that. I made no such accusation, kind sir, and I do not believe that to be the case. I find the headline outrageous though and any defense of it to be completely misguided.

I am getting confused and for my own sanity I just want to get couple of things straight. Feel free to correct me

  • Jeremy Clarkson is a talent
  • Jimmy Saville is the presenter of Top Gear
  • The BBC has not been upfront about paedophiles
  • The question about who these paedophiles are is in contention
  • The guy with the facial hair is with Channel 4 and has a habit of repeating himself
  • Someone's wife is dead keen about the guy with the facial hair
  • The General Manager of the Newcastle hotel is the back-up chef
  • The link to Islam has yet to be discussed
  • Jimmy Choo does shoes only
  • You can buy a Rolls Royce Merlin Engine
  • Jeremy Clarkson is not a mechanic, an engineer, a racer and does not ride bikes to work
  • Hate meesages have been sent to the producer for not having hot food
  • Top Gear is not programme covering homophobia, racism but covers cars
  • Top gear is slang for quality weed.

You missed out 'Jeremy Clarkson is a prima-donna and bully, and also a racist, homophobic, misogynistic and immensely wealthy boorish oaf (as well as a very clever and really quite amusing chap). But other than that, spot on, I'd say.

I think that's the really awful part of it. CallmeDave thinks "My mate Jezzer is in trouble at work, best I get on TV and speak on his behalf" and a huge chunk of the UK electorate think "Good on Mr Cameron".

Saville's actions were criminal offences.
Clarkson's alleged action, is, if true, a criminal offence.
The BBC have problems with running cover on talent that commits crimes....

No one is remotely suggesting that what Savile did, and what Clarkson is alleged to have done are remotely equivalent.

What they are saying is that in the former case, the BBC allowed someone's star status and financial value to prevent a proper investigation from occurring, and that the same failures should not happen in Clarkson's case.
