I won't be sorry to see Clarkson go; his relentless bullying of May and Hammond made me uncomfortable. He went beyond the gentle joshing that is such an enjoyable British speciality and often became insulting, which is unforgiveable in somebody in his position.

I can see following Clarkson would work for Hammond but I don't think it's the best move for May. If they've been clever both should also have a pretty penny put by now too although I presume Clarkson took the lions share of all the cash.

We enjoyed Hammonds first book (the one about the crash co-written with his wife) but the second one was terrible, showed him up as an insular laddish nobber. So maybe he should do some more stuff with her if he wants to be seen in a positive light.

I like TopGear, it makes me laugh and if people think Clarkson is a bully they really need a short sharp dose of reality. The show is the three of them, their personalities and interactions, the car part is just the hook. Without all 3 there is no TopGear, it will be any motoring programme. No idea what the BBC will do without Clarkson, as all they are left with is a world class brand name but no product, suspect they know that too hence no official sacking announcement.
