I am a little late to the party and cannot bring myself to read 737 posts on Clarkson, so to get to the point, is he being charged for assault? If not why not.

I suspect that, for professional reasons, the victim will not wish to press charges. We know what happens to whistleblowers, testifying against a well-known TV presenter would raise the stakes considerably. So, nobberesse oblige, right gives way to shite. Clarkson walks away.

And I hope I'm wrong.

Clarkson recentely lost his mother and is going through a divorce..
he has a few beers and has a falling out with a guy he works with .its called bullying or a cry for help or a bit of loutish behaviour,depends which side of the fence you piss on.

Mind you he has money so he must be vilified by the do gooders...
new cooking programs planned so at least that licence fee is working hard for ALL the payers.

Clarkson's troubles are well documented. Had he run up the white flag and taken some time out, or sought counselling, or called in sick, anyone would see those things as a cry for help.

Bawling out a subordinate for 20 minutes, telling them they're fired and then twatting them one in the face is not a cry for help regardless of how much or how little cash you have in the bank. Having a few beers doesn't mitigate that. It aggravates it as it is a work situation.

Funny old world indeed where folk think envy of Clarkson's money is the reason why folk want to see the situation managed appropriately, just as it would be in any professionally run organisation.
