So just to be clear, you don't think someone verbally abusing and then physically assaulting a work colleague should be fired?
I don't think you're allowing sufficient flexibility on this one. I'd like to suggest the possible answers are (1) yes, they should be fired, (2) no, it's perfectly OK, (3) it would be bad from anyone else but we should let them off if they're rich and influential

so just to be clear,it was after filming ,in a bar after work ,mates having a tiff and a small injury..
no charges no grevences by those involved go figure..
do others get sacked for a row AFTER WORK ?
who cares if you are offended by a small incident that The law says no criminal actions required.

bbc just fooked up again with the PC crap..

if it was while filming then yes, but it wasn't was it..

b and q have a cotton wool sale on btw

No it wasn't. They were on location for work, in preparation for filming the next day.

Ah, so firing someone for assaulting a colleague is now somehow PC and hence a "bad thing"?

You are barking, mate.

Typical BBc, just move the employee when complaints are made. The similarities between savile and Clarkson are striking, although Savile never encouraged others to harm people.

And Clarkson's back on the BBC...

The controversial broadcaster will appear as the guest host of Have I Got News for You on 24 April.

"Jeremy's contract has not been renewed on Top Gear but he isn't banned from appearing on the BBC," a BBC spokesman said.

He has form there too...

Clarkson has hosted the satirical news quiz on numerous occasions.

During one appearance in 2008, he threw a pen at regular panellist Ian Hislop that left the latter with a cut on his face.
