Classic piece of trolling

I've joined the wonderful world of twitter! Yah! Yesterday someone questioned one of my recent videos, specifically my reluctance to use the cycle lane. Fair enough. The chap is a cyclist, but feels that I should use the cycle lane. I don't agree in this instance, but fair enough.

The guy posts this picture

With the line :

this screenshot shows no reason why you shouldn't be further to the left! why are you so far to the right?

Mmm. Looking at the picture I can understand where he is coming from. Maybe I was a little assertive there. Mmm. I'll just have a look at the video at time 2:45 to see if I can work out why I was there.....

Go on check out what is happening just before 2:45 in that video.

Mmm, perhaps a troll.......

Ah, I get you. I've already replied.

His tweet:@magnatom this screenshot shows no reason why you shouldn't be further to the left why are you so far to the R? http://twitpic.com/452nwh

My Tweet back: LOL! That's a funny pic you have chosen. If you care to look at the video, there is another cyclist on my left! LOL!

Nice selective picture choice, obviously not the sharpest tool in the box if they thought you were not going to review your own video.

As long as you not holding up traffic too much you can be in any part of the lane you want, I know that is a problem for you just for us slower road users.

That cycle lane looks safe enough, if you cycled exactly on the line you would just about miss the door zone.. maybe. I wonder what the point of it is though, even with just the 'non cycle lane' part of the road cars can overtake you easily, i.e. that cycle lane should be twice as wide as it is. Our council gives us a much more exciting lane... ride the 'gauntlet of death'

Ah, but if there is one place you don't want to cycle, it's on a white line! Anyway, I don't tend to cycle too far out of it. I basically try and cycle where I would if the lane wasn't there, but it is hard to do, due to the 'expectation' that you will cycle in it.

Better without the lane.

Is that Park Lane? going up to the George? Think I've remembered my roads/pubs right. The last time I was back in Chippenham was for the half marathon last September.
The council haven't improved much in their planning over the years I've been gone.

Very good cycling. Glad to see you routinely check over your shoulder when changing speed or direction. I see some cyclists that don't and it annoys me.

This is one aspect of these lanes that really annoys me. The fact that they weave in and out lulls cyclists into a false sense of security. I can honestly say I have never seen any cyclist who is remaining within the path, looking back when the path weave back out. It just encourages very bad habits.
