I have an old Motobecane demi sport (cover photo). I love riding it but find the gearing a bit restrictive. I currently have 50/40 chainring with cotter pins. I have decided to swap over to a square end axle so I can upgrade to a 48/34. I will change the steel rims for alu.

I’m cheating with this addition as the frame was new but built using traditional methods by Chesini of Verona. I hope you will forgive me as this is one of my favourite bikes to ride.
This is my steel framed Chesini Criterium with Campagnolo Record and Shamal wheels.
