Good afternoon,

Welcome to the forum.

That's the nice part.

Unless you are really keen on investing time and effort, send it to the skip, someone somewhere may have an emotional attachment to "that model" otherwise it is just an old bike.

There is a big nostalgia "isn't that nice", but there is a much smaller "isn't that nice and I am willing to pay for it".

@TTSS has a wonderful bike for sale here, https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/for-sale-22-56-cm-dawes-horizon-touring-bike-£150.288841/ but nobody actually wants to buy it!

Kind regards

Ian

Thanks for the article.

How true!

Maybe it's just a sign of the times but I don't mind putting it away until the Spring if needs be.

With regards to your CB, I was going to say mid sixties but there's a strong chance it's 1961.

CB had several frame builders working for them during this period. Also, does the Brooks have any number codes stamped underneath?

@dads bike just remember if you sell it you loose another connection to your granddad ...sorry
Value is a tough one , it looks fairly original and rideable
Any idea when it was last used ?
Size wise i would guess 23" or there about's
Where are you based?
I would also check to see if stem and seat post are free to move

That's a very nice lugless frame.

Sorry I disagree.

First if all for being rather abrupt with the Op.

But secondly being rather dismissive of his request and without reason...

Older vintage bikes often sell for more money than the horizon you allude to.

CB were one of the premier builders too.

You could try on retro bikes

https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/claud-butler-frame-number-identification.392124/

or the CB forum

I would value it at about £200 unrestored or £500 if mint.
