cleaning my helmet

No pun intended here been cycling a couple of months now and working up a sweat....seem to sweat most on my head and my helmet is starting to smell not so fresh. How do you clean it? Even the straps that go under my chin can get a bit wet with sweat.

Helmet Foam. There is a cleaner out there for it, by Muc Off I think.

Chuck it in the bottom of the shower once a week whilst you get showered.

Wear a buff and wash that everyday

I wear a skull cap every day to soak up the sweat. Saved the bin lid washing.

I keep my helmet in the cupboard when I ride my bike, saves having to wash it too often......

The sweat never soaks through into the helmet lining?

It does, but you don't need to wash the lid as much. In hot weather yes you will need to give it a wash once a week.

... and perhaps I should say that I may or may not wear a helmet in the shower, depending upon the state of the helmet at the time, and no assumptions should be made aboutt he fact that I have made an informed choice.

After all my failure to detail the wearing of a helmet could be a dirty little secret prior to the shower, and a clean little secret after the shower

Antibacterial wipes and the occasional blast from my steam cleaner, don't know if that's good for it?

I find mits and gloves get more smelly.
