Cleaning Windows

Does anybody clean their own outside windows?
I ask because i live in a bungalow and wonder if it's easy enough to do it myself.
I do have a window cleaner and he comes around in a van with the hose in the back using what i suppose is de-mineralised water. He sprays the water on the windows and then goes over with a brush and then leaves it to dry. Probably it takes him no more than ten minutes and charges Thirteen pounds.
We do have a Karcher vac that we use for cleaning the windows inside but i wonder if there is anything else we could use that would be quicker?

I occasionally do ours - I now have an extending pole, that I attach a brush to (recently cleaned the conservatory) or a gutter scoop ! Never had a window cleaner.

I do do mine.

In the bugalow it was easy - suds, sponge, squeegee, buff with a leather.

We're now in a 3 storey gaff and the window cleaner was charging 40 sovs a pop. I bought the kit with the extending handle just like he uses for £100 and now DIY it.

Bought extending pole with brush and squeegee attachments which attaches to hose for about £17 from Robert Dyas. Did velux windows at weekend and worked a treat. The valve which connects to the hose did leak a little and so may investigate that a little more but certainly did the job. You can extend the pole to about 3 metres..

Our window cleaner just put his prices up earlier this year, he only does the front of the house cos of the conservatory on the back (which I do)
Went up from £2.50 to £3 but he does get a cuppa and when it's cold some hot water for his bucket.
