Cleaning Windows

Does anybody clean their own outside windows?
I ask because i live in a bungalow and wonder if it's easy enough to do it myself.
I do have a window cleaner and he comes around in a van with the hose in the back using what i suppose is de-mineralised water. He sprays the water on the windows and then goes over with a brush and then leaves it to dry. Probably it takes him no more than ten minutes and charges Thirteen pounds.
We do have a Karcher vac that we use for cleaning the windows inside but i wonder if there is anything else we could use that would be quicker?

I occasionally do ours - I now have an extending pole, that I attach a brush to (recently cleaned the conservatory) or a gutter scoop ! Never had a window cleaner.

I do do mine.

In the bugalow it was easy - suds, sponge, squeegee, buff with a leather.

We're now in a 3 storey gaff and the window cleaner was charging 40 sovs a pop. I bought the kit with the extending handle just like he uses for £100 and now DIY it.

Bought extending pole with brush and squeegee attachments which attaches to hose for about £17 from Robert Dyas. Did velux windows at weekend and worked a treat. The valve which connects to the hose did leak a little and so may investigate that a little more but certainly did the job. You can extend the pole to about 3 metres..

Our window cleaner just put his prices up earlier this year, he only does the front of the house cos of the conservatory on the back (which I do)
Went up from £2.50 to £3 but he does get a cuppa and when it's cold some hot water for his bucket.

I use this water de ionising filter and a cleaning pole, see photos. The filter cost £60 the pole cost £15. This set up will save you ££££. My filter is two years old and I clean the house windows every two months. Both available on internet with free delivery.

Yep, that is the very same brush kit that I got. I may well have paid only £15 then rather than £17 ( I bought other items at same time). It does the job.

I used have a bloke cycle out from somewhere near Accrington to do mine but the bugger hasn't been for years...

I'm ground floor, I clean my own windows.
The ones at the front of the flat are easy reachable from outside.
The back ones (I got just 2) are much higher up because the building is on a slope.
I give the back windows a good hosing down with the garden hose, twice max during summer  then, if I can be bothered I'll dry them with an extendable pole I got from Home Bargains or similar ages ago.
