It is satisfying isn't it. I'm doing my third trip to the tip this evening in 3 weeks, this evening. The second charity shop pile is growing too.

It is hard work, but I found it well worth the effort to clear a load of stuff to the tip and the charity shop.

We also helped our daughter do the same, when she moved into her flat. I managed to "inherit" the bass guitar and amp which she had never persevered with....

A few weeks ago I realised an elderly friend was in need of a little help to clear out from his workshop some of his acquisitions from the last 50+ years. He was having difficulty making decisions due to a health condition, but I managed to get him to agree to dispose of each individual item to recycling/charity/landfill/family and friends, whilst disciplining myself to take absolutely nothing!
It only took a week:whistle:

We cleared out my late MIL's house, filling a large skip with stuff. A white van arrived and three Romanians tumbled out smelling strongly of booze; they rifled eveything made of metal and I found a bottle of cheap white wine, which I gave them. "Pah! Wine!" they scoffed. "We want vodka!"

30 minutes later a pickup truck arrived and a couple of Irish guys jumped out - too late. You'd almost think the Romanians had been tipped off by somebody at the skip company. I foresee a turf war.

My offspring got married and moved out. Quick as you like she filled her sister's bedroom with stuff when she moved house soon after. It's been filling the room for almost a year. Mrs 26 said I could have my den in there  but I can't :cry:Well not until............ Mrs 26 had the other room for her stuff so she's sorted.
