Out today I noticed that the bike had started clicking. Back at home I put it on the stand and tried to find out the problem. It was slightly intermittent and seemed to come from the bottom bracket area. Spent ages before I found the problem. It was one of those silly pedal reflectors that was loose. Doh!

Yes, finding the source of cycle clicks can be challenging at times:smile:

A lot of sounds seem to reverberate through the BB when they start off somewhere completely different. Mind you, my carbon bike seems to amplify noises through the headset.

I stuck my CX on the stand yesterday to give in it, and in particular the drivetrain, a thorough clean. Once finished I got a faint ticking when I spun the pedals. Took me several minutes but finally realised I'd nudged the cadence sensor and if was just catching the magnet on the crank arm lol.

I had a similar problem recently. The click was down to one pedal not fully tightened.

I was convinced once that I had a noise coming from my headset, stripped and greased it, still there, eventually tracked it down to a slightly loose bolt on the rear rack
