my road bike is making a click noise (which i can feel through the right pedal) on every revoluton. i reckon either pedal or bb is on way out.

am i wrong (something else, that might just need tightening), or which is most likely? the pedals are older than the bb (look 206s), the bb is an octalink splined one on a tiagra triple chainset.

I had a clicking sound a while back that turned out to just be a loose crank.

You need to check:-

BB for play, and that it is tight into the frame
Cranks are tight
Chain rings are tight (I'd remove and refit)
Pedals - check for play and that they are tight.

Best thing is to pull the rings off, remove pedals, remove the cranks, remove BB, then grease and re-assemble checking for play in the BB / pedals. Check for any damage to the rings as well.

Clicking in the BB area is a real pain.
