Guys and gals I need your help please.

(And this is a serious post)

I am getting a clicking noise from the crank each time I rotate. Every time it clicks I feel it on my right foot.

I use my bike 5 days a week 20miles in total each day.

The chain has been on my bike since January 2014. It's been through the harsh weathers that Britain can throw at it but I oil it every weekend and clean it with degreaser.

Does the chain need replacing?

it may be something as simple as your pedals need greasing to something like your bottom bracket needs replacing , its a process of elimination, have a look here

meant only as a bit of banter, please don't take offence.

Just put my commuter in the LBS for the exact same problem they said it could be the cups are loose or BB needs replacing

+1 for the bottom bracket being the likely problem.

And congratulations on making a bike related post of nearly sensible proportions, Soup . But ..... those things you put your feet on? They are PEDALS. Del Boy Trotter peddles.

mine does the same and still not got to bottom of it, not BB but might take the pedals off and grease ?

Thanks for this - it looks good. I have bookmarked it.
I have an annoying click but only when the pedals are under strain such as pedalling hard uphill. I shall be working through some of the solutions on here tomorrow

Cheers mate I have added it to my home screen on my iphone:thumbsup:

Had the same problem, every time my crank rotated 360, there was a clicking, happened to to be upgrading to SPDs and the new pedals fixed it, so it was a lack of grease!

It seems today with modern BBs that pedals are the most likely source of cracks, clunks, and clicks. Certainly seems true imx.

Quite why pedals haven't improved at the same rate as BBs is anyone s guess, but I imagine you can't make sealed unit pedals as easy.
