I'd be a bit sceptical all round.

The Stingers are designed for 22mm tyres.


Yeah I heard that too somewhere... but seems to go against HEDs own puff about marrying the same width tyre and rim for improved leading edge performance. Although the wide rim thing may work differently on tubs, given they are already a flatter profile with more stable/shallower walls... provided the tyre fits and holds sound, you can probably run a narrower tyre than the rim. On my 23mm rims, a 23mm tyre appears significantly wider and flatter than on a 19mm rim.

Still... just speculation, I'd be interested to know what width tubs were being run by sky on those Stinger 4s... I'm fairly sure I read on bikeradar they use 25mm on their rear TT HED rims...
