i'm not worried i've got lights enough to rival blackpool illuminations (at least since the recession)

I've got a slightly different problem - now the clocks have changed I'll be going home through Blackpool Illuminations, my bike lights have to somehow compete with all that lot, and drivers looking up at the sky!

Only a week of the Illuminations left though and the seasons over, should be fairly quiet down the prom after next weekend. How you finding the new road layout past the Tower? I rode down past there on Sunday afternoon and it was a pain in the ar*e. Those new extra wide zebra crossings and the lack of road markings are a nightmare, people just wander over from any direction without looking.

i myself am not really botherd too much about the eary nights creeping in ( although it does make it tricky to see things like mud on the road and then the side of the road! ) the worst thing is the clocks changing. This time its ok as you get a extra hour in bed but when the clocks go foward and you forget about, thats when the problems really start!!!

I went through the lights just after 5pm - absolutely deserted, tail wind, cracking ride!

That section past the Tower is particularly unpleasant to cycle - I will cycle on the road, I'll use cycle paths, but this is neither - the road is still a trunk road, it's not a true shared space. The carriageway edge seems to be marked by lighter stone but it doesn't follow a consistent path. Unfortunately it looks like the wedding chapel and comedy carpet will take up the width of the prom on the seaward side of the tram tracks so we're stuck with it. I'm just surprised we haven't had somebody under the wheels of a number 7 bus.

Ah well, next week it's back to darkness and desertion for a few months.
