A cyclist is in a critical condition after being trapped under a bus following a collision in Birmingham city centre. The collision happened at Lancaster Circus roundabout at 0610 GMT.
Fire crews used equipment to lift the single-decker bus in order to free the male cyclist, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
He suffered multiple injuries and was stabilised before being moved to City Hospital.

Bad one, let's hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Birmingham Mail reported that it was a bendy bus, didn't know they used them in Brum ?

No - Lichfield Road, then Tyburn Road to Pype Hayes and Castle Vale. No bridges that I am aware of that restrict height where double deckers also don't operate. Probably used because this is the straightest route with the biggest roads into Birmingham, so not expected to be a problem. IIRC, passengers per driver are higher for bendy buses than double deckers, and maybe a passenger control issue on this route - no dodgy smoking upstairs on a bendy bus.

I came through there last night, from Perry Barr to Moor Street. Incredibly busy still at 7, wouldn't fancy it at rush hour.

Really hope he is ok.

I have to say I haven't yet cycled in the centre of brum. But I know it takes absolute concentration to drive around that area, especially that RAB. I wouldn't dare it on a bike myself.

Not Good.

I know this part of town well. I commute over it every day that I am in the car, and it is on the route most times I escape Birmingham.
