Hi there,

looking for a first bike for a four year old.
I'm down to the Cnoc 14 (£250) and the Raleigh Performance 14 (£170)

Both have decent specs and very similar weight

My only question is around the BB height (see photo) which seems a bit higher for the Raleigh.
Any views as to whether this will be an issue with stability or leg extension?

Thanks

How big is the 4 year old for their age?

I'm trying to remember when I bought my eldest their 16 inch bike, it was either 4th or 5th birthday.

Things to consider are is there another child waiting to be passed on the bike? Looks like they may be in the middle of this size range and next size up just too big which is not good to learn on. Are you near a shop you could sit your child on the Raleigh?

I would go for the one with higher BB clearance, as kids tend to pedal round corners regardless of whether it's a good idea or not. Leg extension will not be an issue providing there is enough seat pin adjustment.

A good idea. I had not thought of that.
