On the road towards it though, you have to double-take, as there's a scrapyard with Rolls-Royce & Bentleys in!

Scrapyard spotting.

I often use the train from Pontefract to Leeds, just as its rounding the bend to enter the station if you look down to right (Holbeck area) there is a Porsche scrapyard, always full, trashed Cayennes abound.

Gets them out in the fresh(ish) air I guess. No weirder than lorry, train or plane spotting I guess...or fishing which I really don't get (unless all these guys do it to get away from their families)

Thats the main reason. my boy "got" it on holiday this year with sea fishing from the rocks- he mentioned that he wasn't being pestered by his sister or mum and then went aahhh thats why you come out fishing.

a lot of people ride bikes for same reason. but we are not considered weir........ oh hang on ......

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Makes them happy and does no harm.

I sometimes drive past a truck stop on the A5 near Rugby, there is an Eddie Stobart yard near by and there is always a gaggle of Eddie Spotters sat on the bench outside.

There is probably a thread on a bus forum which goes.... "I know a guy who shaves his legs, wears Lycra, rubs body creams into various regions of himself and travels long distances on a bike without a need to do anything at his destination"

To which someone will respond "bit weird, but it gets them out of the house and gives them some fresh air"

Normal is a setting on a washing machine, each to their own imho

Used to see them often when I was driving coaches as part of a previous job. I will never forget the excitement of one chap once, at Redditch Hospital, when I turned up in a brand new coach on its first outing (perks of being Transport Manager!) in seeing this coach for the first time. He was happy and surely that's the main thing.

Coach Spotting has it's advantages
Some years ago I was forced off the bike by a German coach in London.
After a barney with the driver, he drove off - effectively a hit and run
Even though I did not have the registration plate I had the company name
It took all of 5 minutes googling, to get not just the plate, but also a photo of the driver, his name, and also the time of the Ferry he was going for.

I let it be known to Customs that the driver was definitely dodgy, and was probably the type to be the personal import/export business
I just hope they pulled him in.
I then also sent a long e-mail to the transport manager telling them what I thought of their driver, complete with names and details.
