Coast 2 Coast on a tandem

hi all me and my dad are planning to do the c2c next summer together on our tandem. We are going to take our time and do it over 5 days, my dad will be 82 but he is very fit for his age. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has done it on a tandem. I've done the c2c 3 times before and loved it and i know my dad will get a lot out of it, I realise that its going to be really tough on them big climbs over the pennines but hey over 5 days i recon its more than doable. Would like to hear from anyone that has done it over a longer time frame, possible places to stay ect.
