In a few weeks time, I am planning to do the C2C- Reivers NCR circuit, looking at the Kielder area it seems from the OS 1:50000 map that I have 3 options
1. To ride the lakeside western tarmac road from Falstone to Kielder, then to Saughtree(B6357) and then Newcastleton.
2. Ride the forest road on the eastern side of the lake from Falstone to Kielder, then to Saughtree(B6357) and then Newcastleton.
3. The route which interest me is the one shown on the Reivers NCN map which goes through the forest from Lewis Burn, on the western side, via The Forks, Askenshawburn, Scotch knowne and Kesshope Bridge.
I will be using my MTB, in full touring, ie camping gear etc. Has any one ridden this route, as having run a contour profile of the route on Memory map it seems there might be a few steep sections
Cheers
