I love the stuff!

Gone back to taking it daily, not really took it since I was in Infants school, a nice little swig in the morning, lovely :hungry:

After a couple of months I've noticed the legs are moving a bit more freely, maybe I'm imagining it ?

Anyone else on this nectar:rolleyes:

I had recurrent problems with my hip for twenty years - just a dull ache now & then, nothing heavy - till my father in law suggested glucosamine sulphate and cod liver oil. Taken a capsule after lunch every day since, and never had the problem again.

Mr Plax got me some cod liver oil tablets last time I was ill. I looked at him funny and put them in the cupboard. Are they actually worth taking then?
We used to get force fed that stuff when I was a kid - but we used to get a spoon of malt extract afterwards to make up for it!
I used to love that stuff but it was the same kind of deal for me. You have to have the cod liver oil to have the malt extract.

Same here, though I can't stand the taste of the oil so I take it in capsule form.

I was a bit sceptical about taking it again after taking it in my tender years.
It does seem to be helping the old joints though.

My dad was crippled by arthritis of the hips. I started getting painful hips myself in my 30s so I had an x-ray done which confirmed the early signs of the problem. I didn't want to end up like my dad, who was unable to walk properly by his early 50s, so I started taking the supplements, having read that many people seemed to be helped by them.

Here I am 25+ years on and my joints are no worse than they were then. It isn't scientific proof, but I am not going to stop taking the supplements now to find out what might happen!

I knew someone who took one capsule every day of his life but it eventually killed him.
He was 126 years old when he died

Seriously......I have/used to have painful knee joints. I take one capsle per day and now have no problem. Did a 52 miler on Sunday......no problems. It may be coincidence but I believe they are doing the job.

What we need are 10 brave volunteers who used to have dodgy joints but who claim to be better after years of taking cod liver oil etc,, to take part in a rigorous double-blind study! 5 would carry on with their supplements and 5 would be given identical-looking placebos***. Wait, and see which ones end up hobbling about first ...

*** The cod liver oil placebos would need to include a fake fishy burp chemical in order to fool the people taking them!

I took one of the cod liver oil capsules with my tea last night. Me being me, I decided to bite the capsule rather than swallow it whole. I have never tasted anything so vile in my life. To make matters worse, it kept repeating on me. I shall make sure, if I remember to take one tonight, that I do not bite it!!!!

Thou shalt read previous posts before biting thy cod liver oil capsule ...
