Bah real men code in VI
Mine arrived yesterday. Be a while before anyone in the family is school age, though ;-)I'm waiting to see what the Raspberry Pi delivers for school kid coders...
100*101/2 = 10100/2 = 505045 years ago, I wrote an Algol program to add up the integers from 1 to 100. I spent hours entering them onto punched cards which then had to be collected into a bundle held together by an elastic band and delivered to the computer centre at Warwick university. Some time later they ran the program. It took about a month to go through that cycle enough times to sort out all the syntax errors and bugs.
Fortunately, things have moved on since then!![]()
But I wanted to get a building's worth of mainframe computer to tell me!100*101/2 = 10100/2 = 5050
You knew that though ;-)


It's probably built with a 'tool' which puts in lots of bits of code that you wouldn't even think about (or even need)![]()
