You know what? It's not just coffee shops, it's screaming kids in restaurants and on aeroplanes and disabled people constantly getting the best parking. Oh oh and what about women in the pub? that's wrong surely? Old people being aloud to keep driving way too long slowing me down on my way home! Basically the only people that should be allowed to drink in my coffee shop are white, male, between the age on 45 and 46 and sporting a moustache.

Just in case anyone doesn't see the sarcasm in the above - I'M JOKING

Live and let live my friend, vive le difference (or however you spell it) There are ignorant pram pushers just like there are ignorant car drivers and, get this, even ignorant self opinionated bike riders! Don't tar everyone with the same brush life is definitely too short

This purist – not to say militant – approach to coffee-drinking extended to a long list of rules at his brew bar, the Barn Roastery, including a ban on extra milk, spoons, laptops, dogs, mobile phone ringtones, loud phone calls and "media" (apart from newspapers). Sugar is strongly discouraged. But the rule that has provoked the most heated reaction is Rüller's decision to prohibit pushchairs and prams.

What's the problem? It's Rullers Gaff, surely he can run it as he wants. Sounds bloody lovely to me, an oasis of peace and coffee consumption.
3 kids here if it matters.

It's one coffee bar. In Berlin.
Have we all got abso-feckin'-lutey nothing else to get riled about?
It seems not .... I mean Berlin, it's not like many of us are heading there right now for a coffee is it? Or are some organising a mass pram-push to Berlin in protest?
Oh, and he's not banning children or babies either .... so I guess some do have 'abso-feckin'-lutey nothing else to get riled about'.

EXTERMINATE CAPPUCCINO!!!
TBH, I wouldn't bother trying to get in, personally.
Last time I was in Berlin, there was a perfectly good cafe just round the corner from where we were staying. And it didn't have a trainee barista who wanted to play jazz xylophone...
Ruller sounds so far up his own backside it's not true!

I'd happily go there... and I'd have chosen them for this one rule had Berlin been closer whilst either of ours were at that age.

As a relevant aside, I find militant pram pushers (often identified by Child On Board signs) to be amongst the most obnoxious of the militant self-appointed 'I've-got-rights' brigades.

Slightly off the subject. I am a surveyor/salesman and I travel large part of London and Essex, I avoid the maor coffee chains at about 9-10.30 in the morning as I have found in many they resemble playtime in school with pre-School age children being allowed to run around the places with little or no control over them.

I have also noted that the more affluent the area the less consideration is shown for other patrons of the establishment,in Costa Coffee in Highgate one little girl running about knocked over my drink with most of it going over her, the mother had a rant that it was my fault as I must have had the drink to near the edge of the table, when I replied "how the f.... would she know as she was oblivious of the childs noisy behavior and running about".

One of the staff who was watching came over and cleaned the table and then brought over a fresh brew, she quietly remarked that the women and her mates we regulars and she dreaded them comimg in as they were always letting their kids do what they like.
