I must admit to being a bit of a coffee lover. Not one of the extreme US west coast types, but still, know the difference between some coffee types and willing to experiment with different ways of brewing.

I've tried many different ways of making a cup and today got an Aeropress. Too early to be sure, but I think it seems to be pretty good? Either way, both Hario filters and Aeropress seem miles ahead of Cafetieres.

What do you all think?

My favourite is Vietnamese coffee http://www.trung-nguyen-online.com/ and using this very simple but excellent device:

Good to see you back on CC, Melvil!

Let us know how you get on with the aeropress. I get along fine with a cafétière but tea's my preferred beverage for most of the day. However, I've seen lots of good reports about aeropress and I'm quite tempted to give one a try.
I voted moka stovetop on the assumption it was an Italian espresso thingy which I can't remember the name of. There is now a proper turinese place near where I work which makes coffee a hundred times better than any home made stuff I have ever tasted. It's one of those things like proper pizza. Unless you have the right stuff to work with and the proper gear, it's always only going to be 'quite nice'.
Hi Mort - yep, that's the moka - the hexagonal Bialetti job. Totally agree about Pizza but reckon there's still possibilities for coffee...

shake granules into mug, shake a few more, top up with hot water. no need for poncing about

:-) Nescafe or Asda value?

Pedigree bean to cup machine. Minimum of arsing about and poncifying, coffee supplied by local roaster for maximum poncifying.

Arty picture of it for full snobby poncification and sneering at anything less.

You know it makes sense.
