Wow, after all the lovely weather we've been having lately, it looks like the cold is back with avengance. This morning my ears were so cold I got earache in my right ear and at one point I thought my fingers were too frozen to pull the brakes. My own fault. Even though I looked out the window to see the car completely iced over and icing on the grass I still went out in 3/4 shorts, fingerless gloves and nothing on my head. Duh.

Yep it was a little chilly first thing even in the south but remember the clocks went forward yesterday. Looks to be brightening up ok now.

Yes - mega, mega foggy in Birmingham this morning!! I can't say I noticed whether or not there was frost around but it was FREEZING!!!

Not helped by the fact that the heating has been turned off in the office now (as summer is supposedly here) and it is not v.warm in here either! I have a hot water bottle on my lap!!!

I'm sure we are in for a wet week too!

Does look to be brightening up. Probably still not advisable to cycle home in short sleeves though. Arm warmers at the ready!

British Summer Time my ar$e!!
Hands were like ICE this morning and sooo foggy I took a route that avoided the dual-carriageway of my usual commute. I really hopes it's warm on the way back!

Shorts, short sleeves, fingerless mitts, oh, and a bike too - tropical London welcomes careful cyclists!

Amen to that - although I did have a long sleeve T and gillet on this morning. Must be getting soft as I age.....

Late start for me this morning and it felt quite warm as I got my bike out of the shed.

Won't need me gloves! Schoolboy error.

Forty minutes later when I got off the bike I had hands like frozen claws. What should have been an enjoyable run in was marred by fingerfreeze!

Plan your clothing, i always have an extra layer for top and bottom + a spare of gloves + buff + overshoes in the pannier bags .

It might add time to your preparation the night before but it is worth it !

Following a guy who scalped me on a hill ( carry my panniers mate 20llbs i reckon on a Monday with the start of weeks clothing ), i followed him easily once on the flat as i do not hammer the hills atm due to a twinge in the sacro -illiac area.Anyway he had the piddliest rear light i have seen in a long time on a bike and he was virtually invisible in the fog .
