Cold ears...

My ears tend to get cold second after my toes, and I don't like skull caps and the like whlist cycling... so the tips freeze and start to hurt.

I could buy a headband that covers the ears, but that would cost and still have material around my forehead for some lovely sweat...

So 5 minutes, some odd peices of felt (hence the stupid looking colour) and I have this...

Looks a bit stupid but worked perfectly this morning.

Those old CRT moniters are great at generating heat. Never thought to use one to warm my ears up before though.

I find a buff does the job nicely. Wear it round the neck and then pull up to cover the bits that need it when required.

I am on the look out for a Buff, seems to be a bit of a price hike recently for some reason...

Still, I don't need one yet, its not that cold - if I had it wrapped around just the ears I would get the hot head issues still

Skull cap here - either use a light weight one in summer to soak sweat up, then a windproof one for winter which can be pulled down over the ears.

Buff for me. In fact Cycle plus sent me a free one with the last magazine. I won't be using it (I already have one in black), so if you want a buff with red Cycle Plus logos written all over it....

I lost mine when my daughter realised it has hearts on it!

:hello: < hands up, please

Can't you make something out of squirrel fur?

Enough dead ones around here, saw one the other day with its head clean gone... also lying on its back with its paws out in a starfish pattern.

The point here was just to keep the wind off so didn't really need to be thick anyway - only had the felt lying around as scrap.

There is an eBay shop that sells Buffs for about £11. Do a search and they should pop up. I use mine all the time now. Glad someone from this forum recommended me one.

I wear an "old" motorbike windproof full face balaclava, keeps my ears/neck nice and warm but apparently, from what I have been told, it intimidates some motorists.
