I quite like those DrS - blue's my favourite colour

Btw, Yesterday I spotted some silk balaclavas in an Outdoor pusuits shop. Has anyone tried these?

Thanks for any replies and suggestions, don't take offence at the critical replies below etc

I did the above mainly to test, and works surprising well - cuts out a bit of road noise too but not too much - the ears aren't totally closed in and there is a larger gap at the back, maybe better for hearing traffic coming

Decathlon neck fleeces £2.99.

Neck, too thick, when setup to cover the ears it covers forehead = too hot

I have one of these, it has a more breathable material around the mouth nose part. Got (and used) abroad to stop getting mental sun burn. Problem with these are the material - I have taken it out in the UK and the helmet moves around too much because of it and I ended up relying on the chin strap to keep the helmet on which I don't find comfortable (I did get it for less than £1 though )

Looked at these before - just like a buff around the head, too hot for me.

A guy on e-bay is doing a Buff "type" bit of kit. I got one and after trying it out got another 2!
There doesn`t seem to be any great difference from the original buff, they keep your face warm
and are a fraction of the cost.

ps. you can buy them single from same for £2.99

Thanks for that link - I was just searching for buff in the cycling (and whole site) sections and I never found it. For now I have no need for a buff, don't want to soak my face for the sake of my ears (I'd rather go without really). Mags has offered me one anyway so have taken him up on the other (double thanks).

I use one of these for neck and chin when it's cold enough. Plus the drawstring can be used to turn it into a hat when you arrive. Excellent value! (my wife told me to say that, she's the ebay seller)

Neck warmer
