I wore a rain jacket on account of the fact that it was raining and didn't feel like I was particularly overheating. In fact, I thought to myself I'll be getting the knee warmers out soon.
I wasn't cold, although it's the first time I've worn my dayglo orange hell coat. I even put the rear light on today as it was quite pissing down (until the second I opened the bike shed)
I thought it looked cold and put on my coat, only to find it surprisingly pleasant what with the misty rain in London, so took the sleeves off my jacket for the first time ever!!!
rain didn't bother me a jot, which was a surprise.
I'm off today, so no commute but I saw this thread title and expected it to have cooled down, its completely the opposite when I went out for a quick trip to town.
Rained all over me this morning. Shorts and SS Jersey. All dry within 20 minutes of office air. Seemed warm enough. Don't mind a bit of rain.
Mind you, that box junction was pretty slippy. Cars bundled across it bumper to bumper, me trying to shed speed without having the back wheel duck out.
Controversial, but I prefer cold & wet to warm & wet. Typical British summer with rain, means over heating, sweating, trying to keep dry, ending up wet and hot......
At least when it's cold, we're 'normally' dressed appropriately.
Not too bad in the s/west,i generally find i can keep wearing shorts till the second week in October then the mornings get a bit too chilly then it's time for the winter bike only.
