The bike is in the house now. Well the one that will be in use tomorrow. Was washed off earlier due to mud and stuff, but it gets to sit in the hall way once we go to bed to fully dry so it doesn't freeze. Oh yeh, this has gears.

The fixed is in the garage. That doesn't freeze, but the tyres are rubbish on ice. LOL

Not that icy in Manc as it hasn't rained for a few days.

You're right, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the gritted roads were fine. The ungritted paths were getting a bit icy, but not slidey.
I'm still nervous from the ice last year when in the space of a few days I skidded into the back of someone, and also came off on some black ice, just coming off my drive - ouch!

Ice and frost in Dundee this morning. Slowed my commute considerably as I was being slightly more cautious.

The cold brought one more surprise though: cramp. Cramp in my glut, mile 9 of 11 on a 7% gradient hill. Marvellous.

CC Commuters, stay safe out there.

Route has been adjusted over the last few days to stick to main bus routes. Had a sliding front wheel moment yesterday morning while taking a shortcut across a pedestrianised square and I still can't figure out how I kept the bike shiny side up.

Don't mind the cold but I hate ice!

What tyres are on your ice bike? Spiked ones?

Really glad I invested in the Marathon Winters!

Having fitted them last weekend and bedded them in on Monday, it looks like I got them on just in time :highfive:

Was delighted (in a sad sort of way) to see frozen puddles and icy patches yesterday (and today)... the studded tyres worked a treat and kept me shiny side up! I always remember my Dad telling me to pay attention to tyre noise when driving in winter, as the tyres go quiet on black ice... would you credit it – this happens with bike tyres too! Ride safe everyone
