SHORT VERSION:
The Tesla done some crazy awesome trickery.

LONG VERSION:
I was driving in the left lane on a 3 lane dual carriageway and two lanes were merging from the left. There was plenty of space behind and in front, and funnily enough, everyone was giving each other loads of space.

Suddenly, my car started slowing down, not aggressively, but gently. But there were still no cars close to me.

A few moments later, a car joined from the left two lanes, at high speed, in front of me. It seemed to be on a trajectory that started from the left lane of the joining two left lanes, then moved to the right lane of the two left lanes, then in front of me (left lane of main 3 lane road) and onto the middle lane then right lane.
Somehow, my car realized that the car from behind was planning to get in front pfe and started to slow down.

I have no damn idea how that works.

For any Tesla owners, I was in a Model 3 with full auto drive capability. I cannot recall if I was on auto cruise or not but I think I was. Bloody impressive.

Drivers arriving at side junctions at high speed are certainly annoying when you're not sure they're planning to stop. Especially when they come to halt stick out over the give ways (or over the STOP line).

But i particularly dislike those who start creeping over the line just as you're about to pass. Especially if i'm cycling, although it's bad enough when I'm driving.

I really should consider a dashcam.

My Model S has full driving, yes they do some unusual slowing down operations. I take it the car is being more cautious than me. I do like to test its ability to leave a motorway and navigate around the off ramp and roundabout. Yours should be better being model 3, I did however upgrade the hardware computer to V3 when the price was very reasonable
