Only really works for CRT screens. Some LCD screens use more energy to display black than they do to display white. Sorry to stop a bandwagon before it really starts rolling.

Bottom left of the screen on the blue stripe, where it says cyclechat, click on it and you get a 'darker' option - bit easier on the eye.
