Charlie Brown - probably best forgotten?

Don't you mean 'Charlie Williams'?

"Humour" has changed

We were discussing this in the staff room the other day:

Would even half the jokes in the original be allowed today in the reboot?

Will Mrs Slocombe's Pussy still be a major feline feature

I do, thank you - I seem to be getting very forgetful lately

Edit: I actually did a google image search of 'Charlie Brown' because I thought that was his name and that picture came up without a caption so I didn't realise my mistake at the time.
I think that's too general a statement. Situation comedy has changed in line with culture development. Shock comedy has changed because what shocked in the past doesn't now. But slapstick is what it always has been (Laurel and Hardy, Pink Panther, Steve Martin, Jim Carrey), and there are other examples of timeless humour which still works today.

You wouldn't have to look far to find today's sit-com version of Are You Being Served.

Hence the link in the OP.
It was chosen because it will be one of the few cases where there can be a comparison between the two "ages" of humour

During the flight to Hong Kong I watched an episoed of Are You Being Served and had to bite my tongue to stop myself laughing out loud.

It had jokes? Gosh - I thought it was a documentary.

Double entendre is alive and well and living on Radio 4 these days.
