I was going to wait until the sales for a new telly but with the unfortumate demise of Comet, I'm thinking of getting one from one of their stores.

Anyone been into a Comet store in the last day or so and if so what kind of discounts are being applied?

Went yesterday a complete waste of time between 10% and 20% off and no warranty so if you buy something and it doesnt work you will be stuck arguing the toss with the manufacturer.

One example I saw a samsung LED Smart TV currys price £349.90 comet price £314 with no guarantee it even works :headshake:

I think they only things that are cheaper at Comet than elsewhere are iPads and Kindles (because they don't normally get reduced). But I'd rather spend a few quid more and get one from somewhere that's not going bust.

ive bought several items from comet over the years and never once have i bothered going back to them if anything goes wrong within warranty period i just go direct to the manufacturer's website and ive never taken out over priced extended guarentees and never had an issue ,

The problem with this situation is that they could sell you a TV that has been either sat in the warehouse or out on display for months or even a customer return that doesnt even work and the only thing you can do is get in touch with the manufacturer, for that risk I would want a much bigger discount than 20% as sending back a TV would be both expensive and a pain in the arse to do.
