Today I got back from work late and feeling rather guilty for not being able to go out on the bike for four evenings I decided to get a short but fast 15 mile circular route.

Two extremely aggravating episodes occurred that just got my back up enough to mention, good job the ride itself de-stresses me being quite a therapeutic process.

Amongst the usual idiots around rush-hour traffic and the taxi drivers that god knows how they passed their tests all seemed to be going smoothly.. until:

1) 6ft gormless student resembling lummox is at TL/padestrian crossing waiting for lights as almost gridlock cars struggle moving at best. Im in a cycle lane near kerbside going at a nice pace, staring at said lummox, lights still green, get to about 10m from lummox when whilst looking in my direction he walks out in front of me!

I had to slam on the brakes and manouvre, as im shouting at this fool I study him and he's got his damn earphones in and looking rather shocked.

2) Blood has simmered from earlier incident, calm again when im less than a mile from home when a gormless fourty year old chav uses his leg to kick open the door of his parked car, which again I had to swerve (god knows how I did) in a narrow high street zone.

Anyway that is my ramblings of a short friday night ride.. please share your weekly escapades!

Not much done this week, due to a bad bad bad cold, Tuesday was a gentle ride Wednesday was a 12 miles ride to my GF's, Thursday was my birthday and i didn't go out, was seeing the GF.
Today, was a ride to my GFs.
After having an argument with my mum, after her being mardy, and saying i was under the thumb, and would fail this year aswell, and giving me an article to read in her woman's magazine where a woman wrote in because her son had failed his A-levels, and just sits around on the sofa all day and she thinks he is being left behind(no idea on the relevance, im working hard this year)
So, i was annoyed, and on the dual carriageway bit, i let loose and went for it.
33.36mph on the flat, with a heavy-ish bag on my back. Getting looks from the people in the car next to me, as they weren't pulling away from me, until the driver saw and sped up abit(40mph road)
Not had many problems this week, so far. No doubt either tomorrow or Sunday i will do.
I was riding along, singing along to some good music though.
Candle in the wind, by Elton John, was being belted out by me:becool::blush:

a) Don't feel guilty about not getting out on the bike. Just enjoy the times you can.
 Pedestrians have a right to walk pretty much where they choose. Our mission is to avoid them. In high density ped type areas, slow down if you need to travel close to the kerb.
c)Stay away from car doors. Easier said than done, but hey, you knew that anyway.

Take it easy out there!

I went for a short ride on Wednesday, some extremely fat chav did a "fake pump" thing when I went past, some morons out there I guess. I did have a right go at him though.

I like you, felt bad for not going out so I'm making it a mission to get out alot next week.

Oh and yes, alot of students are gormless.

^^^ yep, that is why I do offroading in preference to road. I am lucky that my commute is on a cycle path.

Going by your picture, it looks almost like if someone threw a penny at you, yoiu would brake.
It could ofcourse be the picture making you look like you have skinny legs.
I had some chavs walk infront of me, and go like they were going to kick the ball as i went past. I called them a certain name, which made them stop and say "yo what did he say"
'tards.
Had some chavs on bikes ride infront of me to block me aswell. Dont think they expected me to just hammer it straight through the gap that they left, because they couldnt ride close to each other.

Just shoot them, i say.

Basically, he did a punch action but held back as I went past in an attempt to scare me, I could see it coming though.

@Joe, I am very skinny, the picture makes me look small aswell though, which I'm not really, but a penny wont knock me over.

Some chavs are just weird though.

Well if you were far enough out, then it wouldn't of bothered you.
