Following with interest too 😁

*On a similar vein: I got dropped off here on Saturday - prior to the Dunwich Dynamo run.

I wish I’d have had more time / made more time to go in look, investigate and watch. Nothing more local to me I don’t think (?) and having never seen it in person before I think it would have been very interesting and enlightening !

Walking under the track, onto the centre and looking up at the banking for the first time is daunting!

We don't have TNT etc, but we do have a young friend on the Welsh men's sprint squad, so any crumbs of information would be welcome. Thanks.

BBC Alba will have it on their programme every evening from 17:30-22:00, along with the other sports, so probably not every race.
Available on iplayer live and on catch up.
Commentary in Gaelic.

Well I always find it easier to follow the TdeF on S4C than understand what Sean Kelly is mumbling on about, so ALBA will be OK.

It starts today doesn't it? CH5 have a highlights programme but on quite late and how much cycling gets squeezed in will be very limited I imagine

Have been watching the channel 5 the day after transmission, it’s just a whistle stop list of who has won what with very little actual action.

Alba coverage has been great, even though I don’t understand the commentary. Give it a try. Track cycling starts today, swimming has finished, so should be plenty coverage.

My grandson was watching the swimming with me, said he wanted the “assassin” to win. 3 of the swimmers in one race were Assassins.

The Scots gaelic word for England is “Sasainn” (hence “Sassenach”) . So “Joe Bloggs of England” becomes “Joe Bloggs à Sasainn”

Wales with the fastest time in the women's team sprint taking the Commonwealth record and setting up a gold medal match against England. I used to ride with the father of one of the team and also coached* her briefly. Finucane on the middle leg really made the difference, other eams were in contention after lap 1.

* Helped run the club kids' sessions that she attended but she was already well beyond anything I could teach her.

Some of the events are a bit embarassing. The one para pursuit race had 6 riders, two of those were sprinters who had to ride due to some rule and in the case of Kadeena Cox just used it as a practice for the kilo. Of the others, the gaps were massive (trying to actually find them is proving near impossible). There were also only 5 teams in the women's team sprint (England, Scotland, wales, Australia and NZ). It's all a bit sad really.
