Commute Planning - Eccles/MediaCityUK Area

Hi there,

Basically i'm trying to get to MediaCity from the end of NCN route 55 near Worsley golf club and was wondering if anyone in the area knows a good route for me to go on a hybrid bike.

Not tried them myself. But you could look at some of the routes suggested by Google maps when set to cycling. Alternatively see if you can get hold of the free Cycle GM map that covers the area and look to see if there are any tempting routes.

From Media City:

Broadway / Pacific Way to Eccles (decent cycle path). Follow one way system through Eccles past Aldi. Cross M602 using Peel Street. Imm left over M'way bridge, left on mini roundabout takes you to the golf club, not the shortest route but the way I go the the Mrs' office.

There is another crossing of the M602 near Eccles train station for bikes but this will leave using Gilda Brook Road to get to Regent Street and St Mary's Road, there is a cycle path but access is a pain.

I stay off the A57, narrow cycle lanes and tram tracks cause me problems on skinny tyres, although this is fastest
