Mancunian in self imposed exile in leafy Cheshire
The frightening thing about this video is that the road surfaces are far, far better than those in the uk.

I have just watched a few of his videos, including one lasting about 16 mins, and all I can say is F'KIN 'ELL!

Firstly, his speed, what he hell is he putting on his porridge in the mornings?
I presume it is an Ebike or similar.

Secondly, he must have some huge balls to cycle on roads like that! It must be a bit like cycling on the M25 at rush hour!

Thirdly however, seeing his style, I am surprised he hasn't killed himself yet! I had several moments where I actually said 'woah!' out loud at the video.

When I'm in Russia (Kaliningrad) I use the same pair of drivers to get me from A to B and you soon notice that driving in Russia is a very different experience, scary at first, but somehow cars seem respect each other quite well and it kind of works in a strange way. I wouldn't dare hire a car though. The traffic won't stop at a Zebra crossing for you if you stand on the pavement, but if you walk out into the road, everyone stops immediately, so you get used to just going for it and amazingly you make it to the other side.
What I have noticed though is a notable increase in cyclist in the last year or so and a big improvement in the quality of road surfaces. 4 years ago the roads were full of potholes big enough to lose a small car, that's no longer the case. Lots more leisure cyclists along the canals and parks in the evening too including kids and clubbed-up roadies too out in the evenings and Sunday mornings.
Russians are hard, their lives are tough compared to ours.

I remember talking to someone about the traffic in Naples and that is pretty much what they said - It looks dangerous and chaotic, but somehow, it all works!

To those of us who knew Moscow in the 80s, this is extraordinary.

Back then there was little traffic, most of the cars were Lada or Moskvich and similar.

Some awesome ZiL limuosines and similar giving it the beans up the empty middle lane with blue lights twinkling away.

I haven't been back for decades, but I'm amused at the thought of so many standard Eurobox cars whipping around the streets of Moscow.

I am very out of touch and very out of date.

Does this person also commute by bicycle in January?

When I went to Poland a few years back now, it was the first time I'd seen Ladas for years. I hope they don't all disappear with time.

There is a film from February, so, possibly.

I kept squeezing my legs and arms in at all the close passes and cringed when he went on the inside of that truck ! It looks like he was riding the Mancunian way as well !
