Hi

I will ride Seattle to San Diego in 30 days, starting July 21. I will be following the Adventure Cycling Pacific Coast Route. I am planning to alternate between sleeping in motels and camping, but I don't mind camping mostly.

I am in my early 30s and a full-time student in North Dakota. My dates are fixed because of the school, and I have already bought the flights into Seattle and out of San Diego.

To learn about me and get in contact, find me on social media under FahadHizam

Thank you

That's a bit of a long shot. Very few folk in the UK have holidays long enough to be ab able to accompany you unless they are: students, teachers or retired.

You are more likely to find riding partners in the USA. Have you used the Adventure Cycling bulletin board system to appeal for ride partners @FahadHizam?

Hi Vernon,

I posted on ACA, but not many responded, and not many advertised either. Thought to post on bike forums.

The route is very popular, so hopefully i will find people to share some of it at least.

Thank you

I would so love to do this. I really would.
I have done San Francisco to San Diego by car and that was beautiful enough. I can imagine on a bike it would simply be amazing.

It's a real rollercoaster of a ride so get some training in. Pretty much none of it is flat. It's worth it though! So beautiful, and I really enjoyed the $5 hiker biker sites.

i got an FTP of 4 watt/kg, is this good enough? ^_^

enjoyed your trip journal. I will make sure i go through it again.

I am hoping it will be tailwind most of the time, and i will be packing as light as possible.

Really looking forward to it.

Thank you

Is it mostly uphill or downhill? Headwinds or tailwinds? It's something I might attempt Nov/Dec or Jan/Feb.
Up and down! You've the best chance of a tailwind doing it north to south. Not sure I'd want to do it Nov-Feb. The first storm of the year blew through northern California when I was there in November and I had to hole up in a motel for 24 hours until the rain subsided. It got dark fairly early too. I had to rush to get to camp every day so I had a chance of getting the tent up and cooking before it got dark.
