God you're good. My response has been 'why the f*ck do you keep doing that when you are f*cking slower than me?'

Gaz's video reminds me of my commute over Vauxhall Bridge. There are normally a rag-tag group of cyclists and buses and I admit sizing up the assorted folk to see who I can pass  It feels good getting that quick sprint in and getting the heart pumped.

I have been known to revenge draft - yes its childish. Just before New Cross a few weeks ago, this male cyclist nearly knocked this woman over as she was crossing the junction  I thought 'am going to have you'. A lot of cyclists don't have hill legs as its London and as soon as they hit a slight incline they seem to ebb away. I passed him at speed, yawning and close. I pulled onto the pavement just outside the Venue to make my crossing and as he came over the hillock I gave him a big wave and yelled 'Byyiieeee' :hello: There was a severe look of confusion on his face.

I got a little competative this morning after work, spotted cyclist 1/4 mile ahead, increased pace to catch up, made my pass, glanced back and he is on my wheel. I had to puch myself well outside my comfort zone and upto 28mph to drop him, after a night shift and being realy tired, I was nearly sick when I got home

Given that this is in the commuting section, can I just check the standard rules:
  • you did this in either your work clothes or you were carrying a spare set of clothes. - YES
  • you had a laptop or a days worth of groceries. - YES or near as (lunch plus HTC Flyer tablet)
  • you said a cheerie hello to everybody you passed without appearing to be out of breath. - NO due to the fact I didn't see any cyclists on my morning commute (which is usual)

;)

This is beyond SCR, own up what category are you ? And if you havn't got one, you should have.
My FCNs assuming normal cycling clothing (I do have bits of team kit I wear now & then):
TT bike -1
Road bike 0
Fixie 0
Hybrid (RIP) 8
Giro 26 7 (assuming it's classed as a touring bike)
I don't tot up the points.

I meant what road racing category!

You seem to have the legs for it and I doubt you have any competition on the commute except for things with engines.
none... I did 2 'competitive' rides in a climbing camp, which were basically races, & did well but in all honesty I didn't really enjoy them. I really should get my self organised with TTs as I enjoyed them & I have posted very competitive times as a 'guest' rider.
