Completed the Essex Castle Ride today (50 mile route)

50 miles in 3Hrs 30mins at an average of 14.5 mph and a 1900 ft gain.

Temperature around 28c with some proper hill climbs to test a noob like me.

Took on about 6L of fluids during the ride and didn't use the loo once ! Man I was sweating !

Found it a very well organised enjoyable ride and raised £1400 for a child cancer charity in memory of my nephew who died from cancer aged almost 2 years old last year.

Sorry to hear of your nephew but well done on doing the ride.
At that speed in that heat; give yourself a medal.

Part of your ride I have earmarked for the future. Looks like your Sudbury to Bures was via Henny ?
A pretty bit of road that if a tad up & down.
