Just plugged in this Microsoft APB 00006 keyboard with wired mouse.So beautiful smooth solid action but down at my feet where the tower is,it sounds like a nest of baby wasps,it's whirring any computer bods know why.



Right i'm leaving this up because i have just taken out my hearing aid and the noise has stopped Numpty,mind you i'll ask Mrs P.

No Mrs P has just come down,it might stop once we have turned it on and off again.

Is it an 'electronic noise' (coming from a loudspeaker in the computer)?

(It could instead be a noisy cooling fan.)
Whirring like a nest of baby wasps does sound like a cooling fan. Maybe it's just a bit overexcited at its new peripherals. My first move, as ever, would be the trad: turn it off &...

Chain oil is very good for shutting up a noise computer fan. Pop it out of the case, peal off the sticker on the bottom side of the centre of the fan, and drop some oil on the spindle. Finish Line Ceramic lub is the best ! 👅

I got replacement hearing aids last week and the noise of clack of the computer keys is unbearable..., until I take my hearings aids out!
